XP Power
announced two new families to their line-up of ultra compact metal cased 15
Watt DC-DC converters. Available in an industry standard 24 pin DIP measuring
just 31.75 x 20.32 x 10.16 mm (1.25 x 0.8 x 0.4 inches), the
JCG15
and
JTF15
series offer a power density of up to 37.5 Watts per cubic inch with an
efficiency of up to 91%. Their compact size conserves board space, and the
highly efficient design results in less wasted heat, assisting in the thermal
management of the end system.
Providing the popular nominal inputs of + 12, + 24 or +48 VDC, the JCG15 series
accommodates wide 2:1 input ranges of 9 - 18 VDC, 18 - 36 VDC and 36 - 75 VDC,
with the JTF15 accepting ultra wide 4:1 inputs of 9 - 36 VDC and 18 - 75 VDC.
Both single and dual output models are available. Single outputs are + 3.3, +
5.1, + 12 or + 15 VDC and duals are +/- 5, +/- 12 or +/- 15 VDC.
The converters have an input to output and input/output to case isolation of
1,600 VDC. A remote on/off signal control is standard across the range and can
be used to control the output rails or to sequence start-up procedures. All
units feature overvoltage and continuous short circuit protection.
These highly efficient DC-DC converters operate from - 40 degrees C to + 100
degrees C for the JCG series and + 105 degrees C for the JTF series.
